about
To understand i.design you must first know a little bit about me. I grew up in a town in Northern California on the outskirts of Silicon Valley. My father works in the mapping and planning department for the local county and my mother is a preschool teacher. So naturally I had a mix of electronics and arts throughout my life. When I was thirteen years old I started playing around with programs such as AnimatorPro and 3D Studio. Over the next few years I took several art and design classes, but it wasn’t until I was nineteen when I realized my true potential in the graphic design industry.
At that point in my life I was working for an office supply store in their printing department. One day a customer came in needing some images modified in Photoshop (a program I had only heard of a few times before then). My manager sat me down and walked me through the changes that needed to be made and I instantly fell in love. Ever since then I have been designing.
I have been designing graphics for over eight years now for both large and small companies, non-profits, schools and individuals. In 2008 I was hired by an herbal supplement company to rebrand the company and manage their graphics department. During this major rebranding overhaul the company has continued to increase their sales and grow even during these hard economic times.
A few years ago I started to pursue the freelance side of graphics and came up with the name “i.design”. i.design doesn’t just mean “I design” the “i" stands for “inimitable,” meaning unique. Not one of my clients is the same; even if they are in a similar industry, each of their approaches is different, so I find a way to reflect that in my designs. Everything I do is tailored specifically on an individual basis to meet the needs of my clients.
My priorities, as a freelance designer, are to do great work and exceed my clients’ expectations. It has never been about money, being the most cutting-edge, or being the hippest designer out there, because good business is not about those things– it’s about delivering outstanding solutions that are sensible and that drive profit. Talent is not found in expensive degrees– it’s found in experience and in someone who loves and truly believes in what they do and not just in the dollar signs.
What does this mean to you? It means you will get my best, no matter what your budget. It means that while I am working on your project you will always be able to reach me when you pick up the phone. It means I will never sell you something that you don’t need. And it means that I do what I promise.
